Under Lina's expert guidance you will be shown a variety of methods to embellish your hat with crinoline, beads, feathers, or just keep things simple!
All pieces are finished with elastic, band or comb then lined to a professional standard.

Learning outcomes

  • Detailed step by step tutorial under the guidance of Lina Stein to making a stunning Sinamation pleated headpiece plus head attachment techniques.
  • Learn how to transform your basic sinamay into a couture millinery material by using creative inspiration, time, cut-offs ,scraps and fabric flowers leftovers. This material can then be used on a regular hat block as well!
  • Learn about ideal origami folding techniques to achieve sharp lines and even folds
  • Learn how to sculpt and shape your pleated sheet to give softness and elegance to your design
  • Perfect the finish to your design and assemble your sinamation on your base
  • Attach the headpiece to the head with hat elastic or headband
  • Learn professional couture finishing techniques including hems, linings and trimmings

Course Structure

On securing your place, you will receive an email which includes confirmation, your Zoom invitation, instructions how to use Zoom, lists of materials and equipment necessary for the workshop.
