- Learning about working with an assortment of millinery felt (fur-felt and wool felt)
- Blocking the hats over wooden blocks,learn about stiffening, cutting and wiring methods
- Learn to work with steam to hand mould & manipulate the felt into a swirl/curve.
- Assemble the hat pieces and attach petersham sweatbands
- Learn special felt wiring stitches and a variety of brim edge finishes
- Trimming using petersham ribbon
- Finish with a vintage –style hat lining
