Your rollercoaster ride into the Millinery world will take off with making a Felt fascinator, then you get more technical and expand your knowledge by designing and making a structured felt hat that would be suitable for any fancy wedding or race meeting. This is followed by an elaborate and exotically hand moulded Cloche – style hat.
The final hat is a SWIRLED FELT DELIGHT

- Design, block and make a Structured Felt hat
- Learn to design and make a 1920's inspired Flapper Cloche hat
- Learning about working with an assortment of millinery felt (fur-felt and wool felt)
- Blocking the hats over wooden blocks,learn about stiffening, cutting and wiring methods
- Learn to work with steam to hand mould the felt into a swirl/curve.
- Assemble the hat pieces and attach petersham sweatbands
- Learn special felt wiring stitches and a variety of brim edge finishes
- Trimming using petersham ribbon
- Finish with a vintage –style hat lining
