MILLINERY RETREAT – 3 Days of Felt Satisfaction - All levels

Improve your millinery aptitude to an even higher level and discover the pleasures of millinery felt creativity. 
During the 3-day workshop, attendees will create a SCULPTED CORAL Felt Fascinator  and a STRUCTURED FELT HAT with two distinct felts: wool and fur felt. 
Participants can expect to gain familiarity from free-hand shaping to block adaptations, perfecting brim-edge details and professional finishing.
Renowned milliner, Lina Stein, will share her extensive traditional millinery wisdom with you!

Topics Covered

• We will begin with looking at adapting your blocks creatively and learn how to block creatively with the different types of millinery felts, learn millinery terminology, names of hat shapes and stitchings.
• You will learn all about the making of a SCULPTED CORAL Felt Fascinator including creative sculpting and shaping techniques as well as stabilising your design 
• How to BLOCK A HAT by hand - the CROWN & BRIM to complete your STRUCTURED FELT HAT
•  Complete the brim edge to a high standard. You will learn to do a rolled edge and a Petersham bound brim-edge or leave your edge raw
• You will learn about assembling the hat to use the special invisible felt stitches..
  
• How to attach a leather sweat band and a petersham headband make a couture lining.
• Lina will guide you through the maze of trimming possibilities
